After Felipe lost his parents, he and his half-sister Farrah were raised by their grandparents who believed in old traditions: girls should stay at home and boys should go have adventures. This meant that the two of them were separated and grew apart at a time when they needed each other the most.

( cw: incest > ) Meeting Farrah again after years apart was a moment Felipe would never forget. She had grown up into a beautiful woman he hardly recognized. Her self-esteem had been crushed by the old people who basically kept her locked up and she was shy around him. He found out that the grandparents probably mistreated her too, but at the time he was too wrapped up in his own business to get involved. This was also the time when a part of him realized that he had feelings for her. He had to get away, so he fled, leaving her all alone.

Desperate to forget the situation at home, Felipe fell hard for a married woman, the countess of Zarra. She was his first love and he would have given up everything for her, but the countess was never serious with him. The breakup was ugly. He was humiliated in front of the court. Felipe grew bitter and hateful, swearing that he'd never let a woman treat him like that.

In a world where magic users were feared, hated and avoided like the plague, finding out that Farrah could see the future changed everything. Felipe's grandparents had known about her powers all along. It was the reason why they kept her locked up. Felipe came to her help too late, she had already been sent away to a monastery. Filled with rage, Felipe cursed his family, stole the remaining inheritance money and left. He took the betrayal personally and made it all about himself, when he could have been there for Farrah and defended her instead of avoiding her company.

Disillusioned with the court and the roles their families expected them to play, Felipe and his friends from other privileged families left the city and formed a group of thieves who swore they'd only take from those who had taken from others. Felipe led the group and they were supposed to be looking for Farrah, but the bandit group was mostly just an excuse for rich boys to rebel.

In his monstrous form Felipe grows in size and gains inhuman strength and speed. He has the head and the tail of a bull, but the rest of him remains a man – although almost twice his own size (in all parts) and strongly built. He's also more hairy, especially around his neck and shoulders which are covered in fur. His skin cannot be cut easily and he hardly feels any pain. He's fast and his horns are sharp and deadly, but he could as easily crush a man to death with only his fists.

Inhuman strength and speed
Poison horns | Only one cut from his horns could prove fatal too. The tips have venom in them and the poison will cause hallucinations until the fever kills whomever has been stabbed. Skilled healers are able to combat the venom.
Paralyzing roar | His roar will fill those who hear it with dread – it may even paralyze them with fear and they can't move.

The minotaur is a beast, he isn't sentient. He will kill in blind rage and even devour his victims if he's hungry. However, if one shows kindness to the beast, it may calm down because it desires to be loved.

full history:

Felipe Asztalos was born to noble parents in the town of Wynn in Seris, an old kingdom torn by wars between humans and magic users. The latter were feared, detested and considered dangerous outsiders. Felipe also had a half-sister, Farrah, two years younger than him. She was an illegitimate child of his father's. No one knew who her mother was.

At the age of ten he lost his parents in a fire that destroyed the port of their hometown. They were brought up by his grandparents, who were considered "old money" in the kingdom. They encouraged Felipe to sign up to serve on a trading vessel so he spent seven years at sea, having wild adventures away from his half-sister.

Years later he returned home and discovered that Farrah had grown up into a beautiful yet withdrawn woman who refused to leave her room. Sadly, this didn't concern someone as selfish as Felipe. Furthermore, something about her company – she was too kind, too gentle – made him uncomfortable, so he avoided her and ignored her letters.

The loss and the harsh years at sea had left their mark on him. He had become a gambling addict with a drinking problem who could no longer control his urges. He began squandering away the family fortune since he was now old enough to gain access to it.

Too ashamed to face his sister, he visited her only when forced to. Instead he gambled, drank and chased love in the extravagant parties thrown by the elite of the city. The war was still raging on, but the men who had family friends in high places didn't have to worry about enlisting. Around this time Felipe fathered a child, but his grandparents paid handsomely to the mother and no one spoke of the matter ever again. Farrah never heard about it.

Everything changed one morning when Felipe woke up in his old bed at home, unable to remember what had gotten him there in the first place. He went to see his sister and was shocked to see how much she had changed.

Farrah had lost weight and she had bruises which she desperately tried to hide from him. Still, their relationship was as it had been before: she rebuked him gently, but made no real attempt to fix him. She didn't even ask him why he hadn't written her back. Somehow this was worse than her being angry with him, so Felipe fled, unable to deal with it all.

The following years Felipe spent wooing a countess who was married with someone in the king's court. He was desperately in love with the woman, but her company only encouraged his bad habits. In the end nothing came out of it and she swiftly cast him aside for someone else. She broke up with him publicly and humiliated him.

Heartbroken and pathetic, Felipe finally returned home, but Farrah was no longer there.

After confronting his grandparents about his sister's whereabouts, they revealed to him that they had always known that Farrah had a power, she had the gift of foresight. She knew magic, she was the enemy.

They had sent her away to a hidden, faraway monastery where she could do no harm to the family name. It was common for families to disown magic users since they were discarded by society. Often they were imprisoned or even worse, hanged before they could cause any real harm by joining the enemy's troops.

Felipe had been taught to fear magic users, but he could never disown her. He was beyond enraged. He cursed himself and cut ties with his grandparents, swearing that he'd do anything to find Farrah. He took what money was left of the inheritance and left.

With the help of some of his old friends he gathered a small group to search for her and began a dangerous journey through the kingdom. Magic users had been driven away from cities and they inhabited caves and ruins and whatever miserable shelter they could find. Felipe and his friends met with several of their kind. The encounters were more often sad than hostile.

Whatever remained of Felipe's inheritance had gone to arranging the search and soon they were running out out of money. Someone from the group suggested – as a joke at first – that they take what they need from those who had taken so much already.

They became thieves, moving from one city to the next and leaving behind a trail of raided estates and banks. They could be cruel in order to survive – they were beginners so overreactions were made and people got hurt, but Felipe never lost sight of his goal: finding Farrah.

philosophy:

Even though Felipe does acknowledge the fact that he's had a privileged upbringing, he's still quite blind to some things that are the result of it. He's always had money and safety even though his country is at war, but he's still all wrapped up in his own troubles. He's a man who believes it's only natural that everyone should admire him even when he does the bare minimum. He doesn't hate the magic users in his country and thinks that they should have rights, but he hasn't really done anything for them either – yet he thinks he deserves to be called an ally. He's not a bad person, but he's selfish enough to see himself as the victim when it was actually his own sister who was imprisoned. Felipe will steal and hurt others for his own cause as long as he can justify it to himself that he's doing the right thing.

desires:

Felipe wants to find Farrah and rescue her. He doesn't even know what she thinks of her current situation or whether she needs to be rescued in the first place, but he's the hero of this story. It's all simple in his head. He hasn't thought much about what will follow – will he ever actually confess his feelings for her? – but he wants her for himself. He should be the most important person in her life. After losing his parents and having his heart broken, he doesn't want to be hurt again and he believes that Farrah might be the perfect woman who loves him unconditionally.

fears:

Felipe has a terrible secret that he fears will come out. He's obsessed with his half-sister – he wants her and at the same time blames her for what he has become. He's deeply ashamed of the intensity of his feelings for her which is why he hasn't fully accepted it himself yet. (There's also the guilt for not being there for her, but he refuses to acknowledge that.) More than others being repulsed by his desires, he fears that Farrah will reject him if the truth comes out because in his eyes everything relies on them getting their happy ever after.
