[ he's really pushing the limits of her emotional intelligence here. she can't put to words the unfairness, the lack of control, the sense that he can just do whatever he wants, crash a shuttle through her life and then flit off without having to deal with the wreckage left behind.

that he can uproot her, drag her here to have her with him, and then suddenly decide he doesn't want her. the promise of being wanted and then being discarded is worse than never having it.
